Woke up and my wife told me the sad news. We have all had our various amounts of indifference with Al Davis over the past recent seasons. But this is a day of respect and rememberence for a great man, football pioneer. AD without a doubt was an iconic sports figure. From what we have all realized about AD was nothing meant more to him in life than the Raiders. I will be proudly wearing Silver&Black today with pride knowing what Al built and gave all of us...The RAAAAAAAIDERS BABY!
With the deepest respect R.I.P Al.

Shocked..may he R.I.P. and look down on us when we hoist up another trophy, we will be back to the promise land Big Al

He will never be gone, he will never be dead, as long as we carry the memory and attitude he infused in the team.

``Al Davis's passion for football and his influence on the game were extraordinary. He defined the Raiders and contributed to pro football at every level. The respect he commanded was evident in the way that people listened carefully every time he spoke. He is a true legend of the game whose impact and legacy will forever be part of the NFL.'' - NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell

`Al was a fiery individualist, an important part of pro football - the AFL and NFL - for almost 50 years. His teams had times of great success, and he was heavily involved both on and off the field. I admired the achievements the Raiders attained under Al.'' - Cincinnati Bengals owner and president Mike Brown.
