Well, here you go:

Quote
He was the offensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams. During his first season in St. Louis, he did not call the offensive plays for the team until near the end of the year. He developed game plans with head coach Scott Linehan, and worked to develop the offense in general. Linehan decided to hand over play-calling duties to Olson so that he could manage games better, without having to focus on one side of the ball. Olson was fired after the 2007 season.[1]

Quote
In January 2008, Olson was hired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to be their quarterbacks coach following the dismissal of Paul Hackett. On September 3, 2009, the day before the team's final preseason game, the Buccaneers announced that Olson would replace Jeff Jagodzinski as Offensive Coordinator.[2] He was fired on January 2, 2012, after his team posted a 4–12 record.[3]

Offensive Ranks: Lions 2005: 28th in overall offense. 26th in passing and in rushing
Tampa Bay 2009: 30th in overall offense. 24th in passing and 23rd in rushing
2010: 20th in offense. 17th in passing and 8th rushing
2011: 27th in offense. 16th in passing and 30th in rushing
2012: 13th in offense. 10th in passing and 15th in rushing

Who is going to be our new OC and HC in 2014?

So much for having "patience".  We wait for the rest of the league to fill out their playcaller vacancies with decent coaches and we settle for this?

Not impressed at all.  Its been 7 or 8 years since hes had any success I think.

How come even with Reggie, we cant get any decent coaches in here?

This sucks IMHO.

Our only hope is we have a great draft and snag a stud or 2 in free agency or we are screwed.  Either we get players who can overcome our coaching or lack thereof Cheesy  or were screwed again.

1 thing is for sure.  If we dont switch back to power blocking, I dont think anything will make a difference as we will not put up points.

heres a question.  And it's not meant to be an incediary comment so don't blast me to hard over it.  Are u sure we are still going to be good at Power blocking scheme?  How many guys do we still have who are power and how many Gus are ZBS?  I remember we have traded some of the depth guys like Bruce Cambell etc.  Mc'quisten and gallery went to Seattle.  Yes I know it wasn't last year I'm just trying to remember.  So I guess that's the question would we still excell at it?  Kinda seems to me personel wise we are in between right now.  Something like half the guys are good at this and half the guys good at that.  You know what you get with a team that's half good at something?  Nothing.  Pick something and stick with it.  Just saying.  We're never going to be good at anything if we keep flip flopping

The Raiders obviously didn’t focus on Olson’s work last year as quarterbacks coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, as Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne had two of the worst passer ratings in the NFL.

The Oakland Raiders chose a coordinator to get their offense back to a power-running scheme suited to star back Darren McFadden.

The Raiders hired former Jacksonville quarterbacks coach Greg Olson as their new offensive coordinator, a person familiar with the decision confirmed Saturday on condition of anonymity because the team hadn't announced the move. The hiring was first reported by the Contra Costa Times.

Coach Dennis Allen interviewed a number of candidates, including Norv Turner and Marc Trestman, before settling on Olson to replace the fired Greg Knapp. The shift in philosophies from last season's offense is a clear acknowledgment that McFadden was not suited to a zone running scheme.

Olson previously served as offensive coordinator with Detroit, St. Louis and Tampa Bay. In Olson's two
years with the Rams, running back Stephen Jackson rushed for at least 1,000 yards in 2006 and '07, including a career high of 1,528 his first season.

Olson also helped LeGarrette Blount get a 1,000-yard season in Tampa Bay and played a key role in the development of Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman. Freeman threw 25 touchdown passes and six interceptions and posted a career-best 95.9 rating in 2010 with Olson calling plays.

Olson has 26 years of coaching experience, including 15 in college and 11 in the NFL. Along with Freeman, he has also worked with quarterbacks such as Marc Bulger (St. Louis), Jeff Garcia (San Francisco) and Drew Brees (Purdue).

But his biggest task in Oakland will be reviving the career of McFadden. A first-round pick in 2008, McFadden struggled early in his career with injuries and the zone scheme.

That all changed when Hue Jackson was hired as offensive coordinator in 2010 and implemented a power system better suited to McFadden's skills. In two seasons with Jackson calling plays, McFadden averaged 5.3 yards per carry and broke one of every 15 runs for at least 20 yards.

Last season, he averaged 3.3 yards per carry - the lowest ever for a Raiders back with at least 150 in a season - and the Raiders stumbled to a 4-12 record. He also had only four runs of at least 20 yards in 216 carries.

''I'm not an offensive guru, but I do know when Darren is running certain plays, it's pretty doggone good, and he had some last year,'' general manager Reggie McKenzie said Thursday. ''But when you talk about a scheme, he's not a lateral mover. He's not one of those guys. As soon as he can go north and south, that's when he's at his best.''

The Raiders still have openings on their staff for an offensive line coach, special teams coordinator, and linebackers coach.

Artical says Olson favors power blocking scheme, which means that probably the ZBS is gone for us. Will RM now draft players to match that scheme? Probably.

Greg's hiring came out of nowhere, as there weren't any reports of him even being interviewed for the job. One theory is that Jon Gruden, who had been talking with the Raiders quite frequently, gave the team his glowing recommendation. Olson was Gruden's OC at Tampa Bay.

Olson might not be the sexiest of picks, but as long as he fits the personnel and works well with head coach Dennis Allen and the rest of the staff, Oakland should be improved on offense in 2013 as it tries to build from a disappointing 4-12 season in 2012.
