If we don't get one of those top three defensive players.  Then that should make things interesting

Raider Gridiron / Re: Carr a top 3 deep ball accuracy QB?

He is entirely replaceable........

Spoken like a man. That never got to witness Marc Wilson play
I've been a raiders fan for as long as I can remember and I'm 44.  The fact of the matter is carr isn't that good.   In a perfect situation hes damn good.  But you can say that of any qb.  But how often is that going to be?  Couple that with the fact that hes made of glass ..sorry bro I dont see longevity there...people keep talking about the lack of a deep ball... he got a hand....his throwing hand...hes also had a back...these all factor I to the fact that hes not built to last.  And to think that those injuries dont factor into his game today is just naive.  Hes ways had a penchant to throw murder balls..  but  now he throws them inaccuratly... I have a carr jersey... he was my guy.  But dude.  Sorry I'm. Or the guy who got you broken.  Take that bullshit up with your offensive line.  Me I'm likenits time to move on.

Its going to be interesting.

Someone may take Williams instead of Bosa and then Bosa falls to us after a couple of QB's are taken.  [img]http://www.pic4ever.com/i

I want either one.
I wont turn my nose up at bosa I'd dtillmprefer William's.  Williams doesn't have bosas injury history

I think we've done a good job of building depth and setting us up to take the BPA with just about every pick.

It's a beautiful thing when the BPA fills a need, but you get into trouble when you reach to fill a need and leave a much better player on the table. I think Mayock and Gruden have positioned themselves well to prevent reaching.

Now, will they be able to contain themselves and stick to the plan?
totally agree bpa all the way.  Defensively at least

Lol mostly because hes captain dump the ball off so he doesn't or didn't last year make alot ofndeep throws.  Understandably.  Just adding context to stats

And the reason he dumps the ball off so much? Because he rarely had time to look deep. He was a good deep ball passer in 2016 when the O-line kept him clean (until that fateful Christmas Eve against the Colts).

Give him time and weapons that can get deep and he'll do well in Gruden's offense.
anybody can be a good deep baller with talented wide outs and superior pass protection.  And we've seen how his deep.game goes without.  Pretty much like any other qb.

That's just funny everybody knows John's got the final say so... so John.   Why don't you try not to fuck it up as well.  Lmao

After the draft, Mayock can turn the tables on Jon.

'Gru, don't screw up the roster I built for you'
I honestly thinks the whole thing is something blown up over something said tongue in cheek

I would luv this guy but we need EDGE!!! Our DTs are loaded with run stuffers (Jelly and Haskins) and gap penetrators. (Hall and Hurst). Collapsing the pocket does nothing if we don't have edge pursuit. We really only had Arden Key and nothing on the other side. We need 2 edge rushers and the first should be at #4....if available..

OK.... so what would you do as a GM if Bosa and Allen are gone?  They're considered the two premiere edge rushers in this draft.  Assuming Murray is gone, Q Williams is the defensive BPA in the draft.  The next tier down is Gary, Sweat, Burns and of course Ed Oliver (who, like Q Williams is not an edge rusher).  Then you have Clelin Ferrell who was projected in the top 5 but his stock has fallen big time after his game against Alabama and his combine... I was not impressed with what I saw either.  To me, Ferrell was over hyped imho.

So there you go, do you reach for a lower tier player at #4 or take the BPA (Q Williams)?

I would try to trade back and if not possible take Q Williams.

Solid points from you and gator.  I get it, BPA should always be selected but what is the drop off for a Sweat or Gary edge who would be long got at 24.  At times I've seen them (Sweat and Gary) in the top 4 -10 picks of mock drafts for what its worth and value associated.  Sweat worked out with us at Senior Bowl, runs a 4.5 but I couldn't pick him over Williams at 4...maybe drop back a few spots to 6-8 OR what I'm getting high on is packaging 24 and 27 for a top 15 pick and grab Sweat or Gary if they slide.
I feel u.  But all last year... people kept crying "we lost mack".. "Mack's a generational talent"...William's is one of those cant miss guys...as well.  I cant pass up on a cant miss guy.  If u need sweat that bad trade up for him.  I cant pass on a cant miss guy I just cant.  Alot of people think Williams is the best or the second best football player in this draft....on defense in what's being listed as the best defensive draft in years.... I can't pass up on that.  He will make every edge player who lines up with him better.  Him and Hurst rediculos..its a no brainer.  And we do have enough draft capital to move around if that's what people want to do.  Just remember guys who Fly up boards on draft day because of sweet showings at the underwear olympics...   dont always pan out.  Now Williams was also touted as the best defensive player in college football last year.  Couple that with his showing in the underwear olympics... c'mon man.

Yah I'm with ya, we can't pass on Williams if he is that "can't miss" after one solid and spectacular season.
the best defensive player in the league last year.  Owned the league as a red shirt ....owned it...
