We are not doing the play-in games here.

However you like doing it (list or marked-up bracket), give us your completed brackets before the start of the first game of the 64.  That's 2nd ROUND, March 21-22.

After I have your brackets, I'll combine the info into a bracket showing who picked what, who is still alive as the games go on, running scoring, and so on.

LUCK TO US ALL!!

How do I fill in the bracket and send it to you?

How do I fill in the bracket and send it to you?

We're limited by what this forum's bulletin board (the hosting) can do.  So you can either fill in an actual bracket and post a copy, like a jpeg or something, that I can read (meaning not too small to see).  Or you can just put your answers into the forms for the playoffs that I made above.  You can hit the quote button and fill it in, copy and paste.  Anything that works.

It doesn't matter how it's done.  Just that I can tell what your picks are.

ETA:  To get an idea why I can't just draw in a bracket here, go click the quote button on the chart at the top of the Raiders Depth Chart thread.  You'd have to figure out where your picks are, and the places to put your choices for the rest of the rounds.  And you'd have to do that without accidentally messing up the code.   :D :D :D

It's easier for you this way.

Looks great.

Everybody in should get your brackets filled in ASAP. You can if you choose than add your play in teams if you believe they are upset bound.

Good luck everybody.

Awesome job BC.

3 of the final 4 ????  ;D

ya, if your going to go Big then go Big 10  ;D I hope the Zags pull it off and win their bracket. It would be a cool story i am just not convinced at the level of competition they have played.

Miami, Kansas are the other likely Bracket winners but i'm going a few upsets Instead with Michigan.
That is a real tough bracket GTown and Florida could walk away with the final 4 too.

St Louis could wreck allot of brackets as well lol.

That's your master grid.  Let me know if I misunderstood anything.

All entries accepted up until the start of the first game tomorrow.  I'll just add 'em in there.  ;D

Tibs:  This is a change from you

Quote
Pitt no. 8 instead of WICHITA ST.. no 9

I have no. 9 pitt winning the west
Originally I had w.st beating pitt. Now I have pitt not only beating W.ST but advancing all the way to be the west champ over ohio st.

I wanted to be sure I had that right before major surgery.

First line says Pitt no. 8.
Second line says no. 9 Pitt.

Do you want Pitt to win every game through Ohio State?  Florida wins it all?

Major props to the SDSU Jackrabbits. Small college town just 45 minutes from my birth. Bracket builders gave no love to them making them play Michigan on their home court.

South Dakota..........Bunch of white boys with only 1 starting senior gave the Wolvs all they could handle.

This is a fun read.  Ft. Meyers, Tibby.   ;D

Florida Gulf Coast turns 'dream' into NCAA history

PHILADELPHIA – Eleven years ago, the Florida Gulf Coast University athletic department consisted of trailers in a swamp.

The school hired a basketball coach, but there was no arena. There was campus life, but a lot of it was wildlife: bears, panthers, alligators, and snakes. Poisonous snakes.

At that point, in 2001, it had been less than a decade since the Florida Board of Regents selected the plot for the school: "760 acres of land," the school website reads, "located just east of Interstate 75 between Alico and Corkscrew Roads."

"We had golf and tennis," says associate athletic director Michael Estes, who remembers having a trailer for an office. "And a dream."

Friday night, with less than two minutes left in one of the most shocking upsets in NCAA tournament history, that dream rested in the hands of a point guard from Orlando named Brett Comer.

And he chucked it high into the air.

A nation of fans gasped. FGCU's 17-point lead over heavy favorite Georgetown had dwindled down to seven, and any basketball expert with any common sense knew the upstart team should protect the damn ball. Dribble some. Kick it out. Reset. Drain the last two minutes off the freaking clock. Just don't do that.

But that's the essence of Florida Gulf Coast University, the school built on a swamp on the edge of the Everglades. The whole idea of building a competitive athletic program in Ft. Myers was a complete toss-up. So that's what Comer did: he tossed it up. And out of nowhere, a lanky West Virginia swingman with a sick dorm room view of a campus beach leaped "12 feet in the air" and threw down an alley-oop slam that will likely go down as one of the best highlights of the year.

The guttural roar from the FGCU cheering section was unforgettable: "OOOHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

And just a few minutes later, the Eagles swarmed the court, celebrating a 78-68 win that is the seventh 15-over-2 upset in NCAA tournament history, but certainly the first tournament win by a school that came into this century without a basketball arena. FGCU is now undefeated in NCAA tournament play at 1-0.

"When you're 16 years old, you don't have a lot of history," said school president Wilson Bradshaw. "This will go down as one of the greatest days in school history."

Sixteen years old. And that fits perfectly, because this team plays with the spirit of a kid borrowing his dad's car for the first time. Asked about his ridiculous alley-oop pass after the game, Comer shrugged and smiled and said, "I've thrown crazier ones to him."

During the conference tournament, which should have been a tense time for any team in only its second year of eligibility for the Big Dance, the Eagles decided not to do their usual pregame stretches. Instead, they played tag. Freeze tag. The same guys who won the hearts of a basketball-loving country on Friday night were chasing each other around an Atlantic Sun court only days ago, giggling like schoolchildren and yelling, "You're it!" Tourney officials stared in shock at the scene; the Eagles just laughed.

Think maybe FGCU had some nerves this week, flying to Philadelphia to play in a building five times the size of their home arena? Nah. It closed practice Thursday with a half-court shooting contest.

Florida Gulf Coast head coach Andy Enfield reacts during the first half of Friday's game against Georgetown.   Think head coach Andy Enfield sweated a little when the school's sports information director, Pat Pierson, told him Friday morning that his team would have the entire national viewing audience to himself for the first half-hour of FGCU's NCAA tournament history that night? Nah. He smiled his gap-toothed smile and said, "Then let's make some shots!"

Think maybe FGCU had a little bit of intimidation when it saw its draw and a date with historically potent Georgetown and John Thompson III? Nah. Here's what Fieler said on Selection Sunday: "Sweet 16, Elite 8 … we expect to make a run."

So the Eagles ran. They ran and ran and ran. The Eagles ran from the beginning of the game, attacking the rim with blinding speed and jarring leaping ability. Comer, who played in the same backcourt with Austin Rivers at Winter Park High, pressed the ball as if the team was down 20. He busted into the paint, laying it up or kicking it out. Even when he peeled back, he dropped a backdoor dime to one of his slashing bigs – Fieler or Eddie Murray, who won a dunk contest in high school yet somehow found his post game amid the muck and the mire of Ft. Myers.

The Eagles didn't just flood the Hoyas like favorites, they preened like favorites, too. Sherwood Brown flexed his muscles after made shots, Bernard Thompson looked knowingly over at commentator Reggie Miller. And Comer kept chucking up prayers that got answered by Dunkensteins that Enfield must have created in a campus lab.

"OOOOOHHHHH!!!!!"

At halftime, with a precarious two-point lead hardly anyone expected, Enfield actually told his team to speed it up. He told his players to perform FGCU basketball. He told them to throw more alley-oops. He wanted the gas pedal all the way down, like it was after midnight on Alligator Alley.

It's Enfield who is the true miracle worker here. It's Enfield, the former Wall Street tycoon who lived in Trump Place in Manhattan and wooed supermodel Amanda Marcum, transforming the swamp things into Cinderella.

"I got some crazy dudes on my team," he joked after the game, yet it's Enfield who is the ultimate crazy dude. It's the former NBA shooting coach and Rick Pitino protégé who seeks out risk like the rest of us seek out comfort.

"All Andy's done his whole life," said athletic director Ken Kavanagh, "is achieve."

Asked if there was a moment in the job interview that convinced Kavanagh to make the hire, the A.D. said, "When he said he was going to make us a winner."

That was only two years ago, before FGCU was even eligible to make the NCAA tournament. Enfield got on the phone right away, recruiting from the hospital room where Amanda was delivering the couple's third child, Marcum. She was not pleased.

"It got pretty heated," Amanda said Friday at halftime, holding Marcum on her lap.

But hell hath no fury like Andy Enfield on the recruiting path, and the coach found guys who were long and could leap. Those who couldn't shoot were taught. Players who were on the fringe of oblivion started developing their touch, almost overnight. Enfield's borderline arrogance – how many men would make work calls during their wife's delivery? – fed through the whole campus.

Florida Gulf Coast's Chase Fieler hangs from the rim after a dunk as Georgetown players look on. (AP)The shots started to fill up the hoop, and the arena started to fill up with fans. Last offseason, Enfield asked if the team wanted to play against Duke and VCU. Everyone said yes. In November, Miami came to Ft. Myers and the Eagles beat the Hurricanes.

"After that game," Comer said, "we felt we could play with anybody." And Friday, in the moments before the most pressure-packed game in the short history of a university with no football team, Enfield told his players that they were about to realize they were just as good as the Hoyas. In fact, they were better.

"Andy handles stress and tension pretty well," Amanda said at halftime. "I don't handle it quite as well as him."

The cameras found her and Marcum throughout the second half, and she looked just as nervous as the team looked at ease. The rest of the world wondered how FGCU could possibly do this, yet everyone on the court knew the impossible work had already been done. This was just the fun part.

"The whole game," Bernard Thompson said, "I didn't think they'd come back."

Standing in the locker room after the win, Eddie Murray looked around with a giddy gaze on his face. He's from North Ft. Myers, so he remembers what the campus looked like before the arena and the beach and the Enfield Era. The entire school had about 3,000 students back then, less than a quarter of the population now. The basketball team practiced at Edison Community College, Estero High School, Naples Christian, and Gulf Coast High School on the weekends.

"When the arena was first built," Murray said, "there was nothing else around it. Just empty fields."

Fields and dreams.

Nice read thanks. I always wondered where FGCU was.

Good for that team. Kind of put's em on the map so to speak. Guess I can root em on now.

I wouldn't be shocked to see that 90% of the brackets around north america were wrecked by that Florida Gulf Coast beating Georgetown. I had never heard of that school before.
Michigan sure punched VCU in the mouth real skill full performance.

Tough freaking bracket this year. With the 1 and done rule in CBB, small schools who keep their teams intact 3/4 years now have a fighting chance against the majors.

Backup guard Tim Henderson unlikely hero as Louisville advances to NCAA title game

ATLANTA – Down 12 points with 13 minutes to play in the Final Four, Louisville needed to find a hero in a hurry.

The one who stepped forward was the least likely guy on the floor.

Walk-on Tim Henderson, who had to mount a letter-writing campaign in high school to even get Rick Pitino to consider taking him, somehow became Mr. Big Shot. Pressed into service after the horrific broken leg suffered last Sunday by Kevin Ware, Henderson swished a corner 3-pointer off a feed from Luke Hancock. Forty-two seconds later, Henderson swished another 3 from the same spot off a feed from Russ Smith.

Six points, his total for the game, in 42 seconds? Henderson hadn't scored six points in the last two months. A garbage-time 3 against Duke last week was his first basket since January.

Luke Hancock (11) and Tim Henderson react to a play against Wichita State during the second half. (AP) Final Four stars don't get any more unlikely than Tim Henderson. This was straight Disney movie.

"It's amazing," Henderson said, looking a bit astonished to find so much media crowding around his locker.

The rally Henderson started, his teammates finished off. The overall No. 1 seed bounced off the ropes and back into the fight against underdog, No. 9 seed Wichita State, eventually wearing down the Shockers and eking out a 72-68 victory. It appears to be the largest second-half deficit overcome in a national semifinal in 12 years.

Luke Hancock was the star, scoring 20 points and making one clutch play after another down the stretch. But Henderson was the revelation, completing Ware's prophecy from earlier in the week.

When the injured guard met with the media Wednesday, he confidently declared that Henderson would step up and play well.

"Tim will come in and hit a couple 3s," Ware said then.

"Told ya!" Ware said triumphantly Saturday night in the Louisville locker room.

Ware had a confidence that was not shared by many who had watched the Cardinals all season. Henderson came here four for 17 from the 3-point line, having not yet played 90 minutes on the entire season. He scored a total of three points during Big East play this season.

But Henderson was indeed ready when called upon to play 10 minutes – his longest outing since Jan. 28. Truth be told, this was a moment he'd been dreaming of and preparing for his entire life.

A Cardinal fan from the crib, the Louisvillian grew up loving the 2005 team that went to the Final Four. Playing at Christian Academy, a small, non-power program, the scholarship offers flowed in from … no one.

Tim Henderson celebrates after Louisville's Final Four win. (REUTERS)Henderson was probably going to play at Indiana University Southeast, a tiny NAIA program just across the Ohio River from Louisville in New Albany. But his dream was to play for the Cardinals.

Henderson wrote three or four letters to Pitino, expressing his desire to walk on. They didn't get him very far. But a Louisville video coordinator had seen him and thought he had a chance, so assistant coach Ralph Willard went to watch one of his games at Christian Academy.

That led to an invitation to play with the Cardinals in some open-gym situations at the school's practice facility. Henderson thought he played well in those, but still had no guarantee from Pitino.

Finally, in July of 2010, Pitino introduced Henderson to walk-on Elisha Justice.

"That's your roommate," Pitino told him.

"I guess I'm on the team," Henderson said, then quickly called his parents to share the news.

Thus began three years of taking a whipping from Peyton Siva and Russ Smith in practice every day.

"Tim has to guard Russ every day in practice," Hancock said. "A lot of times it's not pretty."

Some speculated that Henderson's roster spot was a gift to his uncle, David Novak, who is the CEO of Yum! Brands – the naming sponsor for Louisville's 22,000-seat downtown arena. For most of three seasons, Henderson had done little to dispel that notion. There was often talk of Henderson knocking down flurries of shots in practice, but it never seemed to carry over to games.

Fact is, the junior hadn't made a single critical basket in his entire college career.

Until Saturday night, when he absolutely had to.

Pitino said all week Henderson would step up and absorb some of Ware's minutes, but the freshly minted Hall of Fame coach is prone to putting out misinformation before games. Popular wisdom was that Hancock would slide from small forward into the backcourt rather than risk playing Henderson extensively in the Final Four, of all places.

But Pitino was true to his word for once. Henderson gave Smith four minutes of rest and Siva six.

"It was going to be hard for Luke to adjust to the 'two' spot in this short an amount of time," Henderson said.

It seemed even harder to believe that Tim Henderson would be ready to play vital minutes. But he did, and in the process earned himself an improbable place in program lore.

"You're a Louisville legend," center Stephan Van Treese told Henderson.

Even Rick Pitino was surprised by Tim Henderson's heroics. (Getty)His legendary night did not get off to an auspicious start. Henderson missed his first shot of the game, a first-half 3-pointer, coming up short.

But there was no hesitating in the second half. Even in the direst situation of Louisville's season, Hancock trusted Henderson with the pass and Henderson trusted himself with the shot.

It swished.

Next time down the court, Smith trusted Henderson with the pass and Henderson trusted himself even more with the shot.

It swished, too, and a 12-point deficit was cut in half. Louisville was back in it.

"I didn't know whether to yell or play defense," Henderson admitted.

He actually did both, letting out a scream and then scurrying to find his man.

"I know Tim had it in him," Siva said. "When he got in the game and hit that first 3, I was just ecstatic for him. Then the next one, hit it again. … I'm proud of him. He's put in the hard work all year. This was the time that he finally got to show it."

Pitino did not share his players' confidence in Henderson as a game-changer.

"The players said they weren't surprised about him making those back-to-back 3s," Pitino said. "They're being very kind. I was shocked. Not shocked that he made them, just that he had the gumption to take them, then take it again.

"That's pretty darn big on this stage. That shows incredible fortitude for a young man that hasn't played any minutes, to go in and do that. So I'm real proud of him."

Tim Henderson had to beg his way into a Cardinal uniform. But after two incredibly unlikely shots Saturday night, his name will be said with affection by Louisville fans for the rest of his life.

Even though i picked Louisville to win it all... my heart was with the Wolverines.

Well i waited 20 years for Michigan to get back to the championship game. They played their guts out, as a fan I was extremely proud as a fan of the tournament Michigan played and beat the experts picks again and again.  ;D

Beilein coached a tremendous tournament he is a quality man. Should do wonders for Michigan's recruiting.

For being the youngest team out of the 64 teams it was awesome to see what they accomplished.
They beat each team cracking several different D systems along the way.
It was a great when Beilein had all freshman starters on the floor when Trey Burke got into early foul trouble.
That was one hell of a trading punches and coming back on the part of both teams Championship game.

I didn't like the foul on Burkes amazing block 6'0 vs 6'7 and he jams the dude. Bad call.
The Louis player  that was the MVP and committed 5 fouls with 7 min left but the refs gave it to the wrong player.
Beilein should have argued that but it's not the way he goes about his business. That D bag Pitino would have been going nuts if it was the other way around.

I thought Beilein should have had Hardaway drive on Hancock and either get easy baskets of force him commit his last foul. But that is easy to say as a fan right.

It was pretty cool to watch freshman little Spike go all raining down 3's nuts. 17 pts and he averages less than 2pts a game.

Speaking of Trey Burke what a season. They said no sophomore has racked up the amount of single awards as a guard as Burke did this year.
I am sure he will not be back for his Jr year.
